Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) require an extremely small, lightweight solution where uses include navigation, camera platform stabilization and manipulator arm controls in ROV submarines. EMCORE’s SDN500 INS/GPS inertial sensing systems provide exceptional bias stability, low angle random walk values and superior vibration performance characteristics, tightly coupling a digital quartz IMU and a Coarse/Acquisition (C/A) Code engine to offer an excellent solution for ROVs. Our quartz MEMS gyros including the SDD3000, QRS116, SDG1400 and SDG500 gyros complements systems with the same inherent characteristics, providing an exceptionally small devices capable of high reliability and long-life performance for ROVs. Our TAC-450 series IMUs also support these applications which will continue to grow with further proliferation of mini-ROV robotic platforms and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV).
