EMCORE’s Systron Donner Inertial quartz MEMS MMQG and SDN500 INS/GPS inertial sensing systems provide exceptional bias stability, low angle random walk values and superior vibration performance characteristics, tightly coupling a digital quartz IMU and a Coarse/Acquisition (C/A) Code engine to offer an extremely small, lightweight solution for use in Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV). Our QRS116 gyroscope along with EMCORE FOG IMUs complements systems with the same inherent characteristics, providing an exceptionally small device capable of high reliability, long-life performance. Excellent examples of this evolving capability are seen in ROV submarines where uses include navigation, camera platform stabilization and manipulator arm controls. These applications will grow with further proliferation of mini-ROV robotic platforms and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV).
