Opticomm-EMCORE CEDIA 2015 Preview

CEDIA is the premiere U.S. trade show for the digital connected home and custom home theater market. The event attracts a broad range of home technology professionals including installers, systems integrators, audio-video specialists, electricians, security providers, IT technicians, distributors and business owners, along with more than 500 exhibiting companies showcasing the current and future multimedia digital home experience. CEDIA EXPO will take place this October 14th-17th at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, TX.

Opticomm-EMCORE will be exhibiting in booth #4348 at CEDIA 2015 and will be featuring a live demonstration of our new HD4-E and HD4-D High-Definition H.264, HDMI, VGA, and Component Video and Audio Encoder/Decoder. We will also be demoing the new AFC-M-HDMI2 Micro-HDMI Active Fiber Cable with detachable HDMI-A adapter, which extends HDMI up to 100 meters at 4K UHD video resolution. In addition, we will be presenting our diverse offering of cost-effective components for Video over IP and HDMI extension over CATx/HDBaseT or fiber, including the Eclipse HD Encoder/Decoder, c-linx series HDMI extenders, and Optiva and VX Pro series HDMI and DVI extenders.

HD4-E and HD4-D Broadcast-Quality H.264 Encoder/Decoders

HD4The HD4-E and HD4-D deliver visually lossless 1920×1200 or 1080p/60 broadcast quality, HD video over standard Ethernet networks, making them an ideal solution for Video over IP and for delivering high-quality video to any location within a LAN. They feature HDMI 1.4a and VGA inputs on the encoder and HDMI 1.4a output on the decoder, with an adjustable bit rate from 256 Kbps to 30 Mbps depending on the application. Video encoding options include H.264 Baseline, Main and High Profile encoding, as well as unicast or multicast IP streams. Audio encoding includes MPEG 1 Layer II and AAC-LC. The HD4 encoder can also act as a simultaneous decoder, allowing video and audio to be streamed in both directions over the LAN.

Additional features of the HD4-E and HD4-D include analog stereo audio inputs and outputs, embedded audio in HDMI, selectable latency settings of high (250 ms), medium (130 ms), and low (80 ms, optional), and fiber SFP or standard RJ45 copper interfaces. Moreover, the HD4-E and HD4-D encoder/decoders are enclosed in ruggedized aluminum housings that are perfectly suited to space-constrained or mobile applications. They feature an intuitive, easy-to-use web GUI to set-up and control the encoders/decoders, as well as the video network. Additionally, the HD4 web GUI has the ability to detect any HD4 encoder or decoder on the LAN and to connect any encoder to any decoder, or a single encoder to multiple decoders.

AFC-M-HDMI2 Micro-HDMI Active Fiber Cable for HDMI Extension up to 100 Meters

AFC-Series-Active-Fiber-CablesThe new AFC-M-HDMI2 Micro-HDMI Active Fiber Cable with detachable HDMI-A adapter expands the AFC Active Fiber Cable series, which also includes the AFC-HDMI2 with standard HDMI connector, and is designed for distribution of high-definition video up to 4K UHD resolution over much longer distances than copper cables.

The AFC-M-HDMI2 is available in standard lengths up to 100 meters and supports HDMI extension from set-top boxes, DVD players, Blu-ray players and video game consoles to large displays, including projectors and 4K UHD-capable TVs. It is powered exclusively by the HDMI source, so does not require any external power supply. It features Micro-HDMI connectors for ease of installation through tight wall spaces and conduits, plus the ability to connect directly to mobile devices or tablets via micro HDMI connections. It can also connect to standard HDMI sources and displays with the provided HDMI-A adapter.

Opticomm-EMCORE’s HDMI Active Fiber Cables incorporate the latest advances in HDMI technology, including 3D and 2K4K/UHD, as well as deep color from HDMI or DVI (with passive adapter) ports. They deliver the highest-quality audio, including Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio, and are thinner, lighter and more flexible than copper or standard optical cables while providing transparent EDID and HDCP support without signal attenuation. In addition, AFC series cables are plenum rated, providing fire-retardant jacketing for installation in plenum spaces, and are much more immune to EMI and RFI degradation for stable performance in high-interference environments.

Cost-Effective Video over IP and HDMI Extension over CATx or Fiber

eclipseAt CEDIA, Opticomm-EMCORE will have on display the Eclipse HD Encoder/Decoder, which features visually lossless transmission, switching and routing of HDCP-compliant HDMI video with 5.1 audio over dedicated gigabit Ethernet networks, including point-to-multipoint capabilities.

Optiva card modules to be featured at CEDIA will include the OTC-1HDMI-IR HDMI extender for transmission of 1 channel of HDMI 1.4b with IR control up to 100 meters on a single CAT5e/6 cable, with resolutions up to 3840×2160/30Hz. It also provides daisy-chaining capabilities for multi-drop digital signage applications up to 100 meters point-to-point between displays. We will also be featuring the OTC-1DVI2AUSB, which provides transmission of 1 channel of DVI or HDMI video with stereo analog audio along with USB for keyboard and mouse extension up to 100 meters on a single CAT5/6 cable.

The c-linx series of components for HDMI extension will include the c-linx CX-1HDMI-IR Tx/Rx link, which extends uncompressed HDMI with RS-232 and Bi-directional IR up to 100 meters in real time over CATx/HDBaseT. Its advanced design supports the latest HDMI technology, deep color video, DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio, plus HDCP compliance.

Finally, the VX Pro series will feature the VX-1HDMI-IR, which is the smallest module in the market to extend HDMI video with IR data over a single fiber (singlemode or multimode), up to 1080p and 1920×1200 resolution.
